After almost 2 years, I was finally able to return to St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
Due to the Covid19 pandemic and the Volcano eruption of April 8th, where the population of the villages of the northern part of the mainland had to be relocated to schools serving as refugee camps, the activities of Vincy Table Tennis Foundation (VTTF) almost ceased completely. In spite of this, VTTF is very happy to share that during these times, the equipment in the schools were used regularly by the refugees. Nevertheless, in some places, our equipment were destroyed, either by the volcanic eruption or due to improper use.
Now, we are preparing for a restart in January 2022, of course, following the guidelines of the government. So far, we have secured funding by Mustique Charitable Trust for two projects in Fancy and Chateaubelair, however there are still a few projects that require support.
Here are some highlights in the video below of VTTF in action during this past month as well as a glimpse of the state of affairs in St. Vincent and the Grenadines following the volcanic eruption. We continue our mission to make table tennis more accessible to children and communities throughout St. Vincent and the Grenadines and invite you along for the journey.
We wish you and your loved ones all the best for a healthy and happy 2022!
