OLD SECONDARY SCHOOL BUILDING - UNION ISLAND

This is where we had earmarked on holding our after school Table Tennis grassroots programme. The kids from schools across Union Island would come to take part in these sessions.

The pictures show active sessions at the building. Our coach Mr.Rodney Caruth, coordinates the programme in Union: our director Mr.Georg Silbersmidth is always seeking donors/fundings to send Mr. Caruth to the Island at least once monthly “for a week” to maintain this valuable programme.

NDP OFFICE - BEQUIA

VTTF Training camp at the NDP Office Bequia, first week of January 2024. Youngsters in the picture practicing the basics of how to serve in Table Tennis. This segment of the camp was for the Under 10 boys and girls.

Head Coach of the VTTF Mr.Romano Spencer giving the older kids (Under 12) of the training camp some written breakdown of  the Forehand & Backhand drive in table tennis. Most of the kids in the camp are apart of the VTTF grassroots programme ongoing at the Lower Bay Primary School, Bequia. The other coach at the camp was Ms. Ebony Arrindell who is also a teacher at the school.

Head Coach Remarks:

This year started on a good footing and I am expecting to see continued improvements on our all-round grassroots programmes throughout the months of 2024. We have more schools expected to come on board with our programmes and accept them into their schools.

My hope is to make the VTTF grassroots programmes into a central point for the National table tennis body to use as a talent identification system for kids with the potential to represent the country.
